If you are living in North Finchley, Whetstone, Totteridge, or the surrounding areas of North London, we invite you to take part in a free creative arts wellbeing programme for children aged 10–16. This programme is designed especially for children who are navigating the important and sometimes challenging transition between primary school and secondary school.
We warmly welcome families who feel their child may be experiencing:
Anxiety or worry about school
Difficulty settling into a new environment
Low confidence or low mood
Challenges with friendships or belonging
Neurodiverse needs such as autism or ADHD-related support needs
Financial barriers or difficulties accessing paid activities, as this is a fully funded programme and all eligible families are welcome to apply regardless of income.
Why This Transition Matters
Research shows that the transition from primary school to secondary school is a key developmental stage. Children often experience increased emotional pressure, social adjustment challenges, and changes in confidence and wellbeing.
According to the UK Department for Education, school transition is a critical period where pupils may experience heightened anxiety. They require additional emotional and social support to adapt successfully to a new environment.

The Importance of Creative Expression
Creative expression is vital for emotional wellbeing. It allows children to explore their feelings in a safe environment. By engaging in art, they can communicate what they might struggle to express verbally. This process can be particularly beneficial for those experiencing anxiety or low self-esteem.
Building Connections Through Art
Art can also foster connections among peers. In our workshops, children work together, share ideas, and support one another. This collaborative environment helps them build friendships and enhances their social skills.
Empowering Young Minds
Our goal is to empower young minds through creativity. We believe that every child has the potential to thrive. By providing a supportive space, we encourage them to explore their creativity and develop their confidence.
A Safe and Inclusive Environment
We prioritise creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Every child deserves to feel valued and respected. Our trained facilitators ensure that each workshop is a positive experience, tailored to meet the diverse needs of all children.
