The Creative Connection Art Workshop A High-Impact Session of Creativity and Connection

Updated: Jul 10

Our third Creative Connection Art Workshop was a truly special one.

Encouraging Connection Through Creativity

This week, we introduced an activity designed to encourage conversation, teamwork, and creativity from the very beginning. Working in pairs and small groups, the children were invited to get to know one another by discovering common interests. Through chatting, listening, and sharing, each group identified three common interests or experiences, which then became inspiration for their artwork.

What followed was wonderful to watch.

Exploring Artistic Styles

Each group worked together to choose a style of art they wanted to explore. Some selected landscapes, while others were inspired by graffiti, portraits, doodle art, realistic drawing, and other artistic approaches. The children discussed ideas, made creative decisions together, and began transforming their shared inspirations into unique pieces of artwork.

Building Connections and Confidence

The workshop was filled with conversation, laughter, and collaboration. As the session progressed, it became clear that something important was happening. The children were not only creating art; they were building connections, developing confidence in sharing ideas, and learning how to work creatively as a team.

One of the most inspiring outcomes was seeing how each group developed its own artistic identity. Although every group worked differently, their finished pieces reflected a shared vision and a collective creative process. Together, the artworks formed a beautiful and varied collection, showcasing the individuality of each group while highlighting the power of collaboration.

A High-Impact Session

This felt like a high-impact session, where creativity and connection came together naturally. The children were fully engaged with the art, engaged with one another, and increasingly comfortable expressing themselves within the group. The workshop atmosphere was warm, positive, and full of energy.

As facilitators, we thoroughly enjoyed leading this session and witnessing the growth taking place. It felt as though the group had reached a new stage—moving beyond simply creating artwork and beginning to create together.

Celebrating Creativity and Growth

We are incredibly proud of the children for embracing the activities with such enthusiasm, openness, and imagination. We look forward to seeing where their creative journey takes them next.

Please enjoy the photos below, which capture some of the wonderful moments from this week’s session. 🎨✨

About the Workshop Leader

The Creative Connection Art Workshop is led by Liron Moyal, a professional Art teacher and artist with over 15 years of experience and the Creative Director of Lavender Print Art Studio.

Based in Whetstone, North London, Liron is passionate about using creativity to strengthen local communities and create opportunities for people to connect through art. Alongside her wider professional practice, she developed and leads the Creative Connection Project to provide young people with a welcoming space where creativity, self-expression, and community come together.

For Liron, art has always been much more than a creative hobby—it has been a language for understanding and expressing life. Since her teenage years, she has used art to explore emotions, relationships, personal experiences, and social challenges. Over time, her artwork became a visual diary, documenting different chapters of her life and preserving memories, feelings, and reflections that words alone could not capture.

This personal journey is at the heart of why she created the Creative Connection Project.

Liron believes that young people deserve safe, creative spaces where they can explore who they are, build confidence, and express themselves without fear of judgment. Adolescence is one of the most important stages in a person’s development—a time when identity is being formed and emotions can often feel difficult to understand or communicate.

Through these workshops, she aims to introduce children and young people to a powerful form of self-expression and to help them learn a language called art—one that can communicate feelings, ideas, experiences, and dreams.

By combining creative freedom, artistic skills, and meaningful social connection, the project supports the development of confidence, self-awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of belonging, while helping each young person discover their own unique creative voice.

For Liron, Creative Connection is more than an art workshop. It is an opportunity to support young people during one of the most important stages of their lives, helping them build identity, confidence, friendships, and creative tools that can stay with them long after the artwork is finished.

About the Workshop Team & Safeguarding

The Creative Connection sessions are supported by a trained workshop assistant provided through Lavender Print Art Studio, ensuring that each session runs smoothly and that children receive appropriate guidance and support throughout their creative process.

All members of the workshop team hold up-to-date DBS checks and have completed relevant safeguarding training for working with children and young people. This ensures that the sessions are delivered in a safe, responsible, and professional environment at all times.

Safeguarding, care, and professional practice are central to the delivery of the workshops, allowing children to feel secure, supported, and free to focus on creativity, expression, and enjoyment within a well-structured environment.

Conclusion

In conclusion, our Creative Connection Art Workshop not only fosters artistic skills but also nurtures emotional wellbeing and social connections among young people. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive space where creativity can flourish. We believe in empowering children to express themselves and build lasting friendships through art.

We invite you to join us in this journey of creativity and connection. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of young people, helping them navigate their emotional landscapes and discover their unique voices through the transformative power of art.
